The implementation team, led by Kevin James of Climate Compass, is this most qualified group of experts for this project type in the world. Mr. James wrote the United Nations approved methodology for gas pipeline leak reduction projects and has managed all but one of the successfully implemented United Nations projects to date using this methodology. The technical experts on Climate Compass' team have managed nine successful projects to date.
Kevin James is the Founder and CEO of Climate Compass, managing millions of dollars of investments in emission reduction projects on three continents. Prior to founding Climate Compass, he was the Senior Managing Director of Climate Change Capital’s (CCC’s) $1 billion climate investment fund and the Principal Manager for CCC’s investments in North America and the former Soviet Union. Before joining CCC, Kevin was one of the principal founders of the US carbon emission reduction company Quality Tonnes (QT). James’ efforts with QT helped establish it as one of the premier greenhouse gas emission reduction methodology and project development companies in the world. James has also worked at the US Environmental Protection Agency collaborating with Fortune 500 companies, states and local governments to develop greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction investment plans and was the US EPA’s liaison with the White House on efforts to reduce GHG emissions in the cement and steel industries. Kevin James holds a Bachelor's Degree from Bates College and a Master’s Degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dillon Banerjee joined Climate Compass as Head of International Business Development in September 2022, after having served for over two decades as a career diplomat promoting international trade and investment at U.S. Embassies across four continents. His diplomatic assignments included Nigeria, Russia, Portugal, Mexico, India, and Sweden; he finished his career as Acting U.S. Ambassador to Sweden in the summer of 2021.
Prior to joining the Foreign Service as a Commercial Officer, Mr. Banerjee worked as a Program Officer for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C. and Pretoria, South Africa. He also worked for three years as a Project Officer for the Environmental Protection Agency and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa, focused on agroforestry programs. He received an Executive Master’s Degree in Sustainable Energy Systems in 2009 from MIT’s international post-graduate program in Portugal and holds a Master’s Degree in International Development from The American University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Government and International Economics from The College of William and Mary. He is the author of The Insider’s Guide to the Peace Corps (Random House, 2009).
